CHIEF OF PARTY, USAID HEALTH CARE IMPROVEMENT (HCI) PROJECT, NIGERIA LOCATION: ABUJA, NIGERIA


RESPONSIBILITIES: – technical leadership and managerial oversight in the design and implementation of project strategy – achievement and documentation of project results and ensure timely completion of all project deliverables for USAID and other stakeholders – provide financial management and accountability of all projects tasks in compliance with USAID regulations and URC policies – ensure technical support for quality improvements activities is provided to the government of Nigeria and partners – serve as liaison to USAID, FMWASD, partners and stakeholders – manage and supervise staff and coordinate all external technical assistance – develop work plans and processes for results reporting – synthesize, document and disseminate the process of quality care – represent the project at meetings with funders, ministry officials, round tables, working group and conferences


REQUIREMENTS: – minimum of 5 years experience in managerial position, capable of supportin complex, multi year, multi player projects with past experience managin USAID funded projects at chief of party or equivalent and experience in OVC and social services – technical expertise in health or social services in the form of professional degree and or of graduate level degree – proven ability to work with partners at all levels, including federal, states and local government officials, donors, and other non governmental organisation – knowlede of Nigeria’s social and health service systems – ability to systematically package and document processes, achievements and lessons learned – excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, time management, organisational skills – ability to travel throughout Nigeria and familiarity with Nigeria and the immediate region required – fluency in english both written and oral required and local languages a plus
